1. Summary (plain-English version)

• Every file conversion, merge, split, edit, compression, and extraction on this site runs entirely inside your web browser using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly.
• Your files, their contents, their filenames, and their metadata are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party through this Service.
• We collect a small amount of anonymous usage data (page views, referrers, approximate country) to understand which tools are used.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data. We do not run advertising networks on this site.

2. Files You Process

All file processing on DashConvert — including but not limited to PDF merging, splitting, compression, page extraction, image conversion, video and audio conversion, spreadsheet conversion, and OCR-adjacent operations — is performed locally in your browser. Files remain on your device throughout the entire conversion process. No copy of your file, no fragment of your file, and no derived output is transmitted to us at any time.

Because we never receive your files, we cannot access them, cannot recover them if they are lost, and cannot see their contents even if compelled to do so by legal process. If a browser tab is closed mid-conversion, the file and its output are discarded from browser memory.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• The contents of any PDF, document, image, audio, video, or spreadsheet you process.
• Filenames, page counts, image dimensions, or any other metadata about your files.
• User accounts, passwords, or profile information — the Service does not offer accounts.
• Payment information — the Service is free and does not process payments.
• Contact lists, calendars, location data, camera or microphone streams.

4. Information We Do Collect

We collect a limited amount of anonymous, aggregated data to operate and improve the Service. This may include:

• Pages visited and the order in which they were visited.
• The referring website or search query, if provided by your browser.
• Approximate country and region derived from your IP address (the IP itself is not stored long-term).
• Browser type, operating system, and screen size, for compatibility diagnostics.
• Whether a conversion started and whether it completed successfully — not the file involved.

This data is used in aggregate only. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors, build advertising profiles, or link visits across devices.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

DashConvert uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser local storage entries strictly for functional purposes — remembering your theme preference (light or dark), remembering tool settings you have chosen, and collecting the anonymous analytics described above. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will reset preferences but will not otherwise affect your ability to use the Service.

6. Third-Party Services

DashConvert may load a limited number of third-party resources to operate, such as web fonts, hosting infrastructure (CDN), and privacy-respecting analytics. These providers may automatically receive standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser user agent) as part of delivering their service. They do not receive your files or any information derived from them.

We do not embed advertising networks, social widgets that phone home, or third-party trackers whose primary purpose is behavioural profiling.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at the address below and we will act promptly.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal information tied to your identity, in most cases there is no personal data on file for us to access, correct, export, or delete. The single most important security property of DashConvert is that your files never leave your device. That eliminates the largest category of risk associated with online file-conversion services. For the limited server-side components we operate (the website itself, analytics), we use industry standard measures including HTTPS, modern TLS, and hardened infrastructure providers. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, and we make no such warranty.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. DashConvertmakes no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that the results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable. You are solely responsible for backing up any file you process and for verifying the integrity of any converted output before relying on it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DashConvert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted where reasonably practical. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
